Over the years I've met some really talented crafters. I know talent when I see it! I lived in Toronto, Ontario Canada on and off for about 5 years, Tyler was a regular on a TV series, and I met and fell in love with his set tutor. No. You're not going to get one of those Hollywood Entertainment Gossip stories. You all know I'm happily married to a swell guy. I'm talking bff kind of love. Her name is Barb Slater. She and I hit it off immediately, which was really great because we spent a lot of hurry up and wait time together. Those in the business know what I'm talking about. And as it turns out she loves to craft! Oh boy! We hit all the great Toronto craft fairs together every chance we got. Last September I made a special trip back to Toronto to hang with Barb and hit the Creative Craft and Sewing Event held in the Toronto Metro Convention Center. We got ourselves 3 day passes and hit every make 'n take we could squeeze into. I also saw the rest of my extended family while I was there. When you're away from home and working on a set you become like family with the cast and crew. I became really tight with a group of awesome ladies. Ok. Where am I going with this post, you might be asking about now. I am working on getting Barb down to California to be a guest instructor at the studio. She is incredible. Her work is so beautiful. I would like you all to send some good vibes her way so we can make this happen. Let's keep our fingers crossed (toes too if ya got them) and wish real hard. I would be honored to have her. Plus I would get to spend time with my bff. Here are some cards she has been making. Very cool.

These are just her latest creations. She is a multi media crafter and you would not believe the other things she does! The hard part will be trying to narrow down what she will teach!
One more note, a sad one. As I mentioned earlier I met and became really close to some of the nicest people I have met in the film/TV business while I was in Toronto. These are friends that will stay friends forever no matter how long the distance or the time spent away. These ladies are Barb, Lini, Sara, Jennifer, and Rita. Yesterday we all found out that our good friend, our sister Rita passed away. It is still a shock and the tears roll down my face as I write this. I would like to dedicate this blog to Rita. She was an incredible lady, artist, fun loving, tall, blond, funny, beautiful person and I can't imagine the world without her. I love you Rita and will miss you terribly.
